My name is Amanda Davidson, A local Artist from Ireland.
Originally from County Down, Northern Ireland I got started in horses working with my daughter showing, jumping, cross country, and dressage. My love for animals has been with me from my earliest years. I have been a dog groomer for over 20 years and was looking for a way to express my love for animals in a less physically demanding way.
I started drawing and painting animals in 2019. I started in pencil, pastels, and watercolors and now moving on to painting with my new favorite medium of oil on canvas. I have been living in United States for the last 10 years after marrying a lovely American man. I was lucky to be able to renew my passion for working with and riding horses again through the great plains and in the picturesque Black Hills of South Dakota. I have been drawing my inspiration from the landscape and culture from the US Midwest with includes ranching, rodeo, barrel racing as well as the Irish coastal scene. Two differing cultures honoring gods most beautiful creations. Whether it is horses or any animal I strive to capture their expressive nature and grace.
